Organisational Anatomy                                           A Manager’s Guide to a Healthy Organisation       By Oleg Konovalov

Dr. Konovalov describes “Organizational Anatomy”:
“This book offers a discussion of a new management concept, Organisational Anatomy, which views organisational processes and functions from a biological perspective. This approach naturally explains the ongoing internal and external organisational processes and optimum configuration of different organisations. Organisations are live creatures which are breathing, functioning, moving and developing inside their specific environments. Biological examples offer a useful way of making sense of complex ideas, because they can be related to everyday existence. As such, this allows the reader to intuitively understand the organisations where they work and with which they interact. By classifying different types of organisations and looking at their biological functions, Organisational Anatomy links existing theories and discusses five archetypes of organisations, namely producers, knowledge-dependent, location-dependent, donor-dependent and state-affiliated organisations. By looking into their specific features, the characteristics of organisations of different ages and levels of maturity, the access and utilisation of resources, and the development of productive external relations, this book allows insights into the role of each function in achieving superior business performance. The Organisational Anatomy approach allows the development of a holistic picture, and will allow businesses to achieve higher performance and recognise problems and difficulties by considering organisational pathologies and diseases.”

After many years working and studying in business internationally, Dr. Konovalov has written a very insightful book. “Organisational Anatomy” is useful and recommended to all people who are involved in management of a business or organization of any size. From the mom-and-pop stand in the weekend farmers’ market to a multinational corporation, this book will help you to grow your business. You will benefit not just from gaining wisdom about your business, but also the businesses you interact with and serving your customer base. Using the word-pictures of biology and bodies, many concepts become clear and understandable.
If Dr. Konovalov does not write more books, hold seminars or start consulting, the world of business will be the poorer for the lack.
“Organisational Anatomy” gets 4.9 stars of 5! Well written and very understandable!

Archer (Hengist-People of the Horse Book 1)

Jacky Gray describes her book “Archer (Hengist-People of the Horse Book 1)”:
“Mmm. Shoot an apple off his friend’s head or lose his food, horse and clothes? Some decisions require little thought.
Archer is the sort of boy things happen to. Orphaned as a baby, his gifts make him different to other kids. He doesn't understand why he's so much stronger and faster than other boys; why a sword feels so right in his hand; or how every arrow he looses at a target will hit the centre, even if his eyes are closed.
At the Beltane ritual, he must fight his friends to see who is most worthy. But his real battle is with an enemy whose callous disrespect for the natural order brings dangerous consequences.”

Jacky is an amazing author! She has a wonderful talent as a writer to bring us into the story. I felt like I was a pixie riding on Archer’s shoulder, invisible to all and a witness to everything. Her ability to make even the mundane seem real and tangible drew me into the world of Archer in a most remarkable way.
The descriptions of jousting and fighting were very accurate, I could almost smell the food as it was cooking. The conversations and travels of Archer and his friends were very realistic.
This book deserves 5 of 5 stars for being so well written! 100% reading pleasure!

This book is a delightful fairytale for the Modern world. The illustrations are marvelous and have a very contemporary feel, which will keep kids of all ages involved. There are multiple lessons to be discovered here in the process of discussing this book with your child. My favorite lesson: it is okay to have fun! My second favorite lesson: don’t let bullies push you around.
The only thing that detracted from complete fun was the font, it was a little hard to read at times and changed sizes from page to page occasionally.
I give this exciting and slightly serious book 4.8 out of 5 stars!

Maturing In Christ  A lifetime Journey                     by Murl Silvey, Psy. D. and Bev Silvey, MA

Are you stuck in your Spiritual Growth? Have you become complacent in your relationship with God? "Maturing in Christ: A Lifetime Journey" is a hands-on book to get you unstuck. Often we stop growing in our relationship with God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. And unfortunately, we stop growing in our relationships with others. Are you stuck? Do you want to remain stuck or grow? Open this book and get started so that your relationships will again become meaningful and fulfilling for you and others, and you can become the individual God wants you to be.

This is not the book I expected to read.  I was surprised and delighted.
There are so many books written every year about growing in Christ; follow these 39 steps and you will be a radiant, wealthy, (insert your favorite attribute here), or humble Christian.  I have read them, you have read them.  We get excited and work like the dickens, thinking we will finally achieve Christian Maturity (cue heavenly trumpets).  After a few weeks, the glow fades and reality sets in.
We are wounded people, some more than others.  We live in a wounded world and are surrounded by pain, our own and those around us.  How we look at this situation is critical to our healing.
Murl and Bev offer you a map.  When you unfold it the first thing you notice is loads of white space.  It is mostly blank.  Then you see notes around the edges from the Silvey’s and on the back are stories of people who have started making their own map.
Next, they give you a small bag, which looks strangely like a book, with tools. The tools in this bag/book are designed to help you create your own map. There are tools for observing and tools for thinking.
You realize there is going to be work involved, and you ask yourself,
“Self, are we ready to do the work that will bring the growth and healing we want so much?  Are we ready to do something radical?”

Your answer will make all the difference in your life.
I rate this book 4.8 of 5 STARS!
