Archer Grant, @ArcherAGrant, Shares about my work on "Relativity Returning Home": "Mark was great to work with! He was extremely responsive and professional. The attention to detail and care he took on my project made me feel like it was in good hands. The feedback was clear and informative. I not only knew what to fix, but learned something along the way which has improved my writing. Thanks Mark, I will definitely be going back for future projects."
Pamela Ackerson, @pamackerson, said this about my work on "The Guardian Awaits": "Word refiner perfects my stories and I love it. I know it's professionally done and I've got a good product with a good story!"
Happy customer again, Sandra Sperling, @sandsperling3, "A story that has been refined by wordrefiner.com is the same story you sent, but it no longer reads as if it were written on a rugged, gravel road. It's like driving on a newly blacktopped highway---smooth and a pleasure to read."
Richard Smith @RichardSmithTT #HappyCustomer
@wordrefiner The services Mark offers are highly recommended. He seems to love words and takes much care to carry out a thorough and professional job.

@Makemali MK Schultz: "Before you publish your book, I highly recommend the Word Refiner’s budget friendly services as your last step. Trust me, you will not regret it. Mark’s proofreading skills are next level when it comes to commas, punctuation, homophones, inconsistencies, and spelling mistakes. Mark also recommends better word choices to produce a clearer meaning of what the sentence is trying to say for the reader. After hiring Mark for three of my novels, I have come to trust and value his advice and sharp eyes. I am convinced that there is no better proofreader out there than the Word Refiner. The respect and professionalism that I have come to know in my working relationship with Mark is second to none."
Note: the author is not related to me.

Seth Tomlinson said this about my work on his YA novel, "The Adventures of John the Pecan": "Mark did a fantastic job on applying helpful edits to my story. Not only did he get the job done ahead of time amidst an already busy schedule, but he made sure to be as thorough as he possibly could, giving me detailed suggestions, even about things such as what to add or not add to a clause depending on if there is emotion in it or not, and things such as parts of the plot that don't add up, or things that would not make sense if the story were real. I enjoyed Mark's edits very much, and I also just enjoyed chatting with Mark himself. He is a delightful guy and wants to help out as much as he can. Give his proofreading a try!"
Sam Weiss, @SamwiseStrange, says this about my work on her book, "Cynosura 99": I can't express how much Wordrefiner helped with my novel! He was thorough, professional, and kept me updated every step of the way. Not a single one of my ARC readers found a typo in my novel after his proofread. I will be hiring him for all my future novels! Highly recommend.

#HappyCustomer Sandra Sperling @sandysperling3 I had the Word Refiner proof a short story of what I thought was sterling quality, and when he returned the corrected manuscript, it was solid gold!!
Thank you so much, Mark!
Pamela Ackerson, @pamackerson, said this about my work on her Cedar Ridge series of books:  "Working with Wordrefiner is one of the best decisions I've made. He is thorough, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Seasoned or new authors will find him to be one of the best. Need a great editor? Contact Wordrefiner.com, he has your back."
Jay Veloso Batista, @JayVBatista, says this about my work on his book, "Kara, Shieldmaiden of Eire": "Word Refiner saves the day! I sought a talented, professional editor who could edit my work, and the hyper spelling skills of Word Refiner exceeded my expectations! Replacing 2 beta readers and 4 grammar line editors, Mark has saved me time, money and has helped "refine" my book to the best possible work. His work was impeccable, it was delivered in less time than quoted and every annotation was supported by a deep knowledge of grammar and the scholarship required to correct ninth century historic references.  I highly recommend this service. 5-STARS!" Jay Veloso Batista, Author of the Forerunner Series http://mybook.to/Forerunnerseries
Shane Scott, @TheALLwriter, said this about my work on his novelette: I can't recommend Word Refiner enough.
Any author requires an independent proofread. Publishing a work riddled with errors and bad grammar is the mark of an amateur.
After I finished my novel, God of Nothing, I wasted time and money using three different "proofreaders." None of these proofreaders returned acceptable results.
When I found Mark and Word Refiner, my problems ended. Mark’s work is detailed, complete and he finds the tiniest of mistakes. He returned a proof copy giving my book a professional, polished feeling.
Sandra M. Sperling, @sandysperling, said this about my work on her novel: Mark Schultz is a genius! He picked out the errors and jerky sentences, making my prose as smooth as the skin on a baby's ass! I will continue to use his service for every novel I write!  Sandra Sperling
Poetess, Wendy E. Slater, @WendyESlater wrote this on December 27, 2021: Mark Schultz has an impeccable eye when editing. His vast knowledge of grammar and spelling is undeniable as he edits with a fine-toothed comb of expertise. I already had my manuscript edited when I consulted with Mark, and he found previously unnoticed errors.  He is so easy-going and efficient. Highly recommend to all!
Fiction author, Pamela Ackerson, @pamackerson (twitter.com), wrote this on December 15, 2021: Once again, Wordrefiner has done a fantastic job. Efficient and thorough, the explanations are there for the author to continue to improve their quality of the writing. Wordrefiner's services help experienced and inexperienced authors who want to work with a knowledgeable and trustworthy professional. I will continue to highly recommend Wordrefiner.
Fantasy author, Lynette Charrier @CharrierLynette author of The Frelsarien Chronicles wrote this in October of 2021: I'm blown away at the quality of work that I received from Wordrefiner. I've combed through my manuscript hundreds of times, I've had critique partners take a look, and there was still quite a bit that Mark found that no one else caught. A few things he suggested I didn't even know about. I googled to double check and they were great catches on things I had no idea were mistakes. For instance, I was surprised to find out that women have blonde hair but men have blond hair (without the e).  I will definitely be using this service of the rest of my series. 100% would recommend.
Multi-volume, multi-genre author, Pamela Ackerson, @pamackerson gave this recommendation: "Fantastic proofreading at its finest. Fast and thorough, the explanations are there for the author to learn as they make the necessary corrections and improve their quality of writing. Wordrefiner's services can help everyone who wants to work with a knowledgeable and trustworthy professional. I would highly recommend Wordrefiner to new and experienced authors."
Multi-volume, multi-genre, Croatian author, Stjepan Varesevac Cobets, @VSCobet, said this about my work on his sci-fi short story: "Mark's proofreading and Hyper-Spelling skills are needed by every author even after editing a book. He found a lot of little things in my book that my editor and I didn’t notice. I have to admit to him that he has an eye for every detail and I like that in his work, which he made in my book. Every writer needs someone who finds the details he misses when writing, and Mark is the person I would recommend."
From Weam Namou on May 3, 2021:
“Mark Schultz provided much more than proofreading services. His great attention to detail had him make other observations about the manuscript which were quite helpful. He is very experienced, efficient, and understanding, and therefore, I look forward to working with him again.”    Weam Namou, author of Pomegranate
From L. G. Cullens on April 30, 2021,
Well worth it. Despite having worked with a substantive editor, two copy editors, and my own multiple readings, Mark's promotional package and review uncovered a handful of spelling/typo errors that were an embarrassment. Not including his sharp eye is shortchanging your writing efforts.
From Timothy Sparks @Timothy65447327  on February 1, 2021,
Before you query your writing project I recommend you have Mark Schultz, the wordrefiner proofread it. Mark did an excellent job on two of my novels. Payne’s Limit and my dystopian science fiction novel, Forever. Even though I was sure that myself and my editor caught any errors, Mark saved me some embarrassment by pointing out several misspellings and a few sentences with incorrect punctuation. He found blunders in both works.
I recommend his service and I look forward to future projects with him.
From Garry Peterson, @GarryPeterson, on January 14, 2021,
Mark was the proofreader for the third novel in my five-book hard science fiction series, “Warriors of the Galaxy.” Without his contribution, my first two books had numerous punctuation errors, typos and misspellings, and I sought a professional to achieve the writing standard that was lacking and was unacceptable. Mark Schultz (www.wordrefiner.com) is an awesome proofreading talent. He is totally focused on the job at hand, very responsive and highly communicative with his clientele. After accepting his numerous edits, I realized how much I had missed, even after several reviews by both myself and my editor. Mark also spotted redundancies, plot inconsistencies and even technical inaccuracies in a hard science fiction novel that needed to be as authentic as possible. This author, Garry J. Peterson, is one #HappyCustomer and anxious to again work with an eagle-eyed proofreader that has earned my trust and respect. Thank you, Mark.
Maura Beth Brennan, author of The Edge of Fear @maurabeth2014 wrote:  *****
Five Enthusiastic Stars for this service!!! Although I have used a number of proofreading services since I started writing, I can honestly say that Mark Schultz (https://www.wordrefiner.com) is the very best I have encountered. He is responsive, timely, and reasonable; but the best part is how he finds not only misspellings and punctuation errors (apparently, I have an irrational love of misplaced hyphens), but he provides comments on usage, suitability, consistency, and context. He found so many things my editor and I missed! This is several steps above the usual proofreading service. I most emphatically recommend Mark for all your proofreading needs.

Diana Febry, @DianaJFebry, wrote this on November 15, 2020: "Mark did another great job on my new book, A Fiery End, with his usual quiet professionalism. I was nervous about this book and really appreciated his reassurance and encouragement."

I fully endorse Mark and the thorough proofreading he does. He caught some errors after my book was published. I wish I would have discovered him before I paid an editor who missed some things. He is very affordable, too!
Bryan Genesse  For anyone considering working with Mark Schultz @wordrefiner I highly recommend doing it. All aspects of what he will help you with will make you a better author and interviewer. #writingcommmunity #writer #writerslife #writershelp #editing #proofreading
Kristina Gallo, @ViperGallo, Croatian author had this to say after I helped her with her book, "Husband For Rent", September 2020:
If you want someone who is fast and bright, you must hire Mark. English is my second language, but with Mark, I feel like I got the superpower to write. He recognizes not just grammatical errors and typo's, he will enter your mind and see where you write something unrealistic or out of logic.
He will lead you to find an answer inside of you, if you are in lack of inspiration, he will motivate you. Also, his standards are high, he will be made the best of you. As an author, I highly appreciate this approach and I will ask Mark when I will write the next book.
Matt Hiebert, @Thogstacker, author of Book of Days, had this to say:
Mark was the proofreader and editor of my second novel.  I chose to find a professional proofreader after the publisher of my first book printed it filled with typos. And they had three proofreaders! Mark's rates were reasonable and he had a down-to-earth approach that really appealed to me.  After I saw his edits, I was stunned by how much I had missed, even though that was my third draft! It's true that you just can't edit your own work.  Mark not only caught typos and grammatical errors I'd missed, he spotted redundancies, plot inconsistencies and other problems beyond mere misspellings.  Mark's work made my novel better. I can't offer higher praise than that. Yes, he and I will work together again.
Mark, @wordrefiner, I really want to say THANK YOU!!! You did an amazing job proofreading my book "Hiding A Dangerous Love: Book 2". You found errors and details that I never would have found and I am really glad to have hired you. Your recommendations have helped me to improve my writing and, of course, my book.  If you need proofreading, I highly recommend Mark. From Samantha Smith, @SmanthaSmith95 author.
Bernard Jan, @BernardJanWorld, said this in July, 2020: Editors are important. For your book, for your reputation, and to clear the path to understanding of what you are saying and make your words flow like goosebumps down the skin of your readers. But editors are also human and therefore vulnerable to overlooking things, just like we authors are before submitting our manuscripts to their professional eye and evaluation. This is why, as a perfectionist, I knocked again on Mark's door, asking him to proofread and refine my two new books: a novel "Cruel Summer" and accompanying book of poetry "Postcards from Beyond Reality". As it was the case with my previous novel, "January River", he saw things I didn't even consider during writing and editing. Those little things and details an average reader might not even notice, but important for a book to shine and make it smooth in the minds of our readers. Thank you, Mark, for that!
To authors who think that professional editing is too expensive or not important, I would suggest to at least give Mark a chance to proofread and refine their books. With his service the amount of errors is significantly smaller, if not next to zero. Make that effort, honor your readers, and give your books attention and care they deserve. Or, please, do not publish them at all. Thank you.
Amanda Gregory, @manderz19, had this to say about my work on her novel, FIX: "I’m so glad I came across Mark’s services on twitter. Not only does he provide professional and timely services but it’s also at an affordable price. It made my job so much easier going through and editing with his guide. I now feel assured that my readers will have a smooth transition reading without any hiccups along the way. Mark has improved the quality of my book more than he probably knows and for that I’m grateful. I’ll definitely be sure to use him again for future projects."
Diana Febry, @DianaJFebry, had this to say after publishing her latest book, "Trouble at Fatting House" the third in the series: "Mark has worked on my last three books. I return to him as I find him professional, efficient and easy to work with. I look forward to working with him in the future and I'm happy to recommend him to other writers."
Bernard Jan, @BernardJanWorld, author of several books had this to say on January 19, 2020, about my work on "January River": Giving my novel January River into the hands of Word Refiner was a smart thing to do. Now, the fans of literary fiction, coming-of-age, mystery, and romance stories can enjoy reading it without being distracted with laughing at my silly errors! Yeah, it’s true, even after several edits and two pairs of eyes (shame on me!), these mortal enemies of every author who holds dear his books and reputation stayed hidden in ambush until Word Refiner took his refining solution and exterminated them. What a feeling! For that, I am grateful. Very much so. Now I can sleep in peace, knowing that the January River will provide a clean and undisturbed flow through all of the pages, watering your hearts and eyes. Isn’t that nice?
Alexa Spagnola, @SinCityMadame, provided me with this testimony, on January 22, 2020:
Mark, @wordrefiner, did a phenomenal job proofreading  and refining my novel, "Mafia Madame." He was not only professional and prompt, but he was a real joy to work with. If you need proofreading, you just can't do better than Mark.
Joyce Serrano, @JSerranoWrites,  emailed me on January 10, 2020, she is the author of a number of books, including "Original Grace" and "Immortals in the Everything". I helped her with these books and others:
I am exceptionally pleased with Word Refiner's services. I have had three of my books proofread and Mark was able to find things my editors missed in all three texts. Each of my issues were either spelling or homophone issues that were small enough to get past editing software, editors and beta readers. I can't say enough about the quality and readability he brought to my books. I will never publish anything again without his services.
Ellie Douglas, @AuthorEllie, direct messaged me on Twitter on December 22, 2019, after I proofread her latest horror/thriller, "Leech":
"I very much look forward to working with you again. You were honestly, incredible. I keep laughing at myself for having used the word (Literally) as often as I had done. That still makes me laugh, as I reflect back on what you did find. Without you having polished my novel as well as you had, I wouldn't be getting the comments on it that I am getting, and they are all grand! Thanks to you :) which is something I'm so grateful for, you are damn good at what you do :) The best :)"
Gordon Bickerstaff, wrote me on December 9, 2019, after I proofread "Toxic Minds" as a reissue of his popular thriller:
"Mark was recommended to me by another author. His work is thorough and I've learned from him, which will help me make fewer errors in the future. If anyone asks me to recommend a proofreader, I'll recommend Mark."
John A Guynn wrote this on December 1, 2019, after I finished proofreading his book, "Branded Book One: Skald": "Mark did an amazing job with Skald, the first book in my high fantasy trilogy. Even after numerous self-edits, a complete beta-read, and a copy editor had gone over the manuscript, the word refiner’s eagle eyes spotted little things needing correction and suggested tweaks to improve the story. All of my interaction with Mark was professional, including much-appreciated progress updates even though I had told him I was not on a deadline.
His comments and emails clearly showed he was invested in my story. It wasn’t just another job for him. I recommend Mark’s word refinement/proofreading service to everyone I can. Excellent service with outstanding value, what more could you want?"
Dr. Lori Shemek, Phd. CNC, wrote to me on November 30, 2019, after I finished proofreading her latest book "Beginner's Guide to Intermittent Fasting" covering the topic of intermittent fasting:
“My experience with Mark has been beyond expectation for my book. Mark not only edits professionally, but offers pertinent suggestions that are aligned completely, as if he wrote the book himself. He has an in-depth knowledge of how information needs to flow in order for the written word, whether an article, essay or book to showcase not just your writing, but you as the expert.”

Marc W Johnson, @Woordman had me refine a recent screenplay, "Legacy", this is what he said in an email on October  25, 2019:
"I asked Mark to refine my screenplay on sentence structure, grammar and the like. I have to say, Mark is a master at refining. Just when you think you got everything locked down along comes a word Jedi, using the force of years of experience and know-how, he wields his talent to make your work shine without errors. Mark even suggests words to make some sentences pop, and you think ‘how did I not see that?’ He lets you know what is working, too. He comments when he really likes something you wrote, whether it is a line, a word, or dialogue. Yes, Mark is Jedi Master Word Refiner, and I highly recommend this force for good grammar, punctuation and the like."

Refining historical writing can be a challenge since there are any number of period-specific words and phrases, not to mention the risk of anachronistic terms. Mark tackled the challenge with finesse. His professional and positive tone was much appreciated on top of his expertise. I will, without doubt, be working with Mark on all my manuscripts. Duane Simolke, Texas author of multiple books, gives this advice, June 18, 2019:
"Mark’s Wordrefiner report for my eBook Now That We’re Grown gives detailed guidance about grammar and punctuation. Mark also points out anything that might confuse readers and even includes suggestions for better phrasing. It’s not only worth the money but also will prevent regret, because someone else would have noticed those problems after the eBook was published. Edit your own work carefully, but then also hire a reliable editor like Mark." I proofread that book for him.
Wayne Kerr, author of many books, when asked why he picked Wordrefiner to promote his books, May 23, 2019 in the interview for "A Pinot to Die For":
"I picked you to help market 'Ric-A-Dam-Doo' after spotting your promotion for another author's book review using the mighty 'Grizz' to drum up interest. I thought it was cute and ingenious. Diana J Febry author of The Paperboy and many others had this to say on May 12, 2019:
"Mark is a gem of a find! If there's someone out there who can do a better job at a comparable price, I haven't found them.
After countless self-edits, a run through Grammarly and an extensive beta read by a fellow author, Mark still found numerous errors in my manuscript. Many of them were silly little things and punctuation mistakes, but he also found some howlers that would have damaged my credibility. Indie authors work on tight budgets, but Mark is worth every penny/cent.
"His approach is professional and efficient, but at the same time, he is friendly, approachable and encouraging.
I'm happy to recommend him and will use him for my future books."
James McCrone author of Emergency Powers and others. April 20, 2019--
"March Schultz delivered! I’m so glad I used Wordrefiner for the line-editing of my latest thriller.  It’s amazing: no matter how many hands (or pairs of eyes) a work has been through, there are always mistakes that detract from the work--which makes a good line editor crucial.  Mark found things others had not, and even suggested stylistic points.
"Writers strive to make their work vivid, compelling and authoritative.  If the prose is marred with typos, spelling and grammatical errors, readers are put off. Mark’s work was thorough, exhaustive and professional.  Having made the edits, I now have greater confidence as I send the MS out to agents and publishers.
"I will certainly use Wordrefiner again, though it may be a while as I’ve only just made a start on my next book. I highly recommend it!"
C. P. Aiden  author of The Good Audit, April 11, 2019
"As a brand new author, I thought I had done a really good job on my book. I went through over 10 rounds of editing, including reading the book aloud twice. I also ran it through an online grammar check service. I was amazed that Mark still found so many things that needed correcting, including several homophones I had totally missed. The best part is that he does it in a way that is kind and constructive - a way that builds your confidence in your book. Now I have full confidence in my book. People may be critical of what I wrote or how I wrote it, but they will not be able to criticize it for being full of typos thanks to Mark! Should I write more books, I will use Mark again and again." I proofread that book for him, it was a bit hard because I was laughing so much!
Boris Sanders. April 3, 2019
"Mark did a great job proofreading my debut novel, Code: Revelation. Two other editors had gone through it, and yet he spotted things the previous ones had missed. Not only that, he also offered valuable suggestions on wording and dialogue. The price was very reasonable and I even got to learn a bunch of things by working with him, so it's a no-brainer that I will work with him again. I can't recommend him enough."

Clayton Morgan- author of "The Chronicles of James McConley" series
"I had read my manuscript numerous times, but I knew I needed a professional set of eyes on it. I was familiar with Mark on twitter and after a little research, I quickly determined that he was the one for the job. I was right. I got my manuscript back and I was instantly happy with Mark’s proofreading technique. Many of the side notes he made were both informative and educational. I was surprised by some of the things he found. I was also embarrassed by some of the things he had pointed out, the simple stuff I managed to read over and not catch. "Lenders proofreading service provided by the expert, Mark Schultz. Mark is a master of his craft, and I learned a lot from him, including but not limited to, this little tidbit: it’s “whale on someone,” not “wail on someone!” Find that one in chapter 49: Lee, and join both of us on Twitter for more like this! And Mark may have learned one or two from me (I tug my collar, while laughing at myself), such as, absquatulated. “They absquatulated on weakened legs!” Find this one in chapter 71: The Zoo. And sockdolager, from chapter 63: Betrayal. “…he could do nothing to stop the sockdolager that was her foot!” We had great fun together on both Lenders I, Lenders II, and I look forward to working with him again, on Lenders III. Visit Mark at his website to read his many in-depth book reviews, and to learn more about his various services. http://www.WordRefiner.com "

Does great work and picks up on those irritating mistakes you missed. Worth it and with using a sample, the cost is tailored to your needs. Less mistakes cheaper. If more mistakes like me, you really need his help."

@WendyESlater multi-volume poet, including Into the Hearth and Of the Flame:
"Mark Schultz has a dedication and desire to support authors.  I have had the joyful experience of being interviewed by Mark twice. Each interview took place after Mark thoughtfully reviewed a poetry book of mine. There is a live dynamic with Mark’s interviews while he and I (and sometimes others drop in) dialogue back and forth over many days.
His questions are thoughtful, sometimes challenging- in a wonderfully thought-provoking way, and then out of left field Mark will pose the most brilliant question so that I have to pause and really contemplate both the question and my answer. Being interviewed by Mark is a unique shared experience that is so much fun! At the end of each interview, I realize how much I have grown through our dialogue. Mark has a deep curiosity and truly wants to know who you are and he wants to learn from the interviewee as well as share."

If you think you don't need someone to look through your manuscript for typos/errors, you probably do.
Mark is incredible at what he does. Some of the errors that he found in my manuscript are kind of embarrassing, but he's so nice that I feel less bad about it. Also, his rates are incredibly affordable and worth the investment. I highly, highly, highly recommend."
Ishi Nobu, author of Unraveling Reality  www.ishinobu.com
"Having been distressed at the number of typos found in the first version of my book, my publisher recommended Mark's proofreading service to me. After assuring myself that I'd done about as well as I could in tidying up the typographical mess, Mark found errors I had missed. His service is indispensable for any writer wanting to produce clean copy. There is no substitute for a fresh look, and Mark has a fine set of peepers."

"Mark Schultz @wordrefiner performs a unique service. If you use professional editors (and shame on you if you don't), there is a lot of work incorporating the changes and there will be errors. I proof mine, but I leave errors as will you. Mark will help you give your book a final polish. I've tried and I know that if you don't, readers will find them and you certainly don't want that to happen. Don't forget to make an appointment with Mark to get your best (professional) work out there."

"I would like to thank Mark Schultz, from Word Refiner, for the outstanding job he did, proofing and editing my novel.
No matter how many times I read and edit my work (and I’m sure this is the same for many authors), I know that I will not have managed to pick up all the mistakes. Eventually, this becomes an ‘I can’t see the wood for the trees scenario’ and utterly frustrating.  As a rule, when you are a self-published author, the costs of editing are so far beyond what you can afford as to be ridiculous. It was wonderful therefore, to find Word Refiner; an affordable, very professional service providing the writer with the peace of mind that their manuscript has been properly scrutinised.
Mark’s comments, suggestions and corrections made a huge difference to the readability of my book and I believe that, now, the narrative has a much better flow. I will definitely be using his services again."

Cheers Mark!

"I've worked with a fair amount of editors. Being a dyslexic author can be trying at times. I don't often see the same mistakes that others do, but I am a firm believer in the philosophy that "a good writer needs a good editor" and Mark Schultz is that editor. I will definitely be working with him again."

Robin Lyons, twitter.com/2RobinLyons  Author of Unknown Threat
"I used Mark’s proofreading service for the first time on my debut mystery/thriller novel. Mark delivered ahead of his promised timeline, and his service surpassed my expectations. He offered suggestions to help dialogue flow more efficiently within a normal conversation. Also, his comments helped me look at certain areas of narrative differently. When you feel you have read your story so many times you want to tap out, Mark is your go-to guy to push your story to the next level of perfection.
With too many editing and proofreading options available, it’s comforting to know someone you can trust. I look forward to working with Mark again."
