Deadly Stillwater                                                       By Roger Stelljes

This is how author Roger Stelljes describes “Deadly Stillwater”:
“Two girls gone...
Shannon hustled to her car and dug into her black purse, searching for her car keys, "Where the heck did they go?" He quickly put his hand over her mouth as she screamed and thrashed, slid the van door open, and dragged her inside... She tried to scream through the duct tape pasted over her mouth. Smith could see the horror in Shannon's eyes. It was only the beginning for her...

One detective under pressure...
The ruggedly handsome Mac McRyan, a fourth-generation cop, is faced with a complicated brazen daytime kidnapping, a media storm surrounding the case, and political scrutiny. An abduction is just the beginning in a case of betrayal and revenge that will ultimately strike at the heart and soul of the St. Paul Police Department.

No time left...
From the searing streets of St. Paul to the murky waters of the St. Croix River, DEADLY STILLWATER is a book you won't be able to put down until its last gripping minute.”

What an amazing reading adventure! I so enjoyed this modern-day thriller! Mac Mcryan is not just a smart cop; he is a good smart cop! When he has to bend the rules to get the bad guy, he knows how and who to call. There is a great supporting cast of fellow officers, criminals, friends and enemies. There is a lot of action and dialogue to keep the plot moving to a nearly excruciating climax! Roger handles POV pretty well and uses great technique to bring the story to conclusion. The scenic descriptions are very nice and bring the reader deep into the story. I wish there had been a couple of maps to see how the different locations were related geographically.
I am very pleased that this is not the only book in the series.
I give this book 4.9 stars of 5! Well written and plotted! You will enjoy it!
